Technical Sales Representative

Description

AWC Process Solutions is a distributor, integrator, and OEM of various types of industrial equipment, including valves, pumps, and MCCs & VFDs, among others, servicing municipal and industrial industries. AWC specializes in providing specialized industrial packaged solutions. We offer clients advanced in-house engineering & design with 3D modeling, piloting, fabrication and machining, in-house control panel shop, and a full range of field services, allowing us to provide turn-key solutions.

We distribute and manufacture systems for every major municipal and industrial industry in Western Canada. Our systems range from a wide variety of pumping applications, chemical systems, water treatment, valve packages, heat transfer, field instruments, various compressibles, power distribution, and solids handling, just to name a few.

The role of the Technical Sales Representative (TSR) position is to improve AWC’s market position and achieve financial growth. AWC TSRs help build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and closes business deals, and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions. In their capacity with the company, TSRs are required to work with the internal team, marketing staff, and the management group to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue for AWC. To achieve this, a TSR needs to find potential new customers, make sales presentations, and ultimately convert them into clients, and continue to grow business in the future.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Solicit potential customers for opportunities to provide services and products offered by AWC;
  • Provide technical advice to customers and offer services and products to meet their requirements;
  • Respond to customer inquiries through a variety of medium including telephone, email, and in person sales calls;
  • Follow up on outstanding leads, quotations, and opportunities;
  • Utilize various software programs used by the company to manage the business, including CRM;
  • Travel throughout Western Canada;
  • Make sales calls and presentations to various parties including end users, engineering consultants, contractors, or other types stakeholders;
  • Provide all necessary training and support to clients or potential clients to ensure maximum effectiveness when pursuing opportunities;
  • Collaborate with AWC management and vendors to help establish and execute a sales goal for the territory;
  • Maintain and expand customer base by building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities;
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Technical Sales Representative or similar senior role;
  • A deep level of understanding of various industrial processes;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
  • Proficiency in MS office suite and experience with CRM software;
  • Results-focused, customer-centric, and self-motivated;
  • A love for life long continuous learning and development.
