Plant Type: Adsorption Clarification (AC) Water Treatment Plant

Model AC-120 Water Treatment Plant is designed to treat raw water for the removal of colour, turbidity and other impurities to provide a high quality effluent for potable and domestic use. The AC is suitable for waters of moderate quality with turbidities typically up to 30 NTU.

The plant combines the time provenprinciples of mixing, coagulation / flocculation, clarification and high rate filtration.

Purpose: To remove impurities from the water, and, thus, provide potable water to the village.
Treatment Issues: High color and high organics raw water.
Capacity: 654 m3/d (120 gpm)
Process: The treatment process is a completely automatic, gravity flow operation. It consists of a single process train and comprises the following components:

  • Raw water flow control
  • Chemical coagulation and rapid mixing for:
  • Alum as Primary Coagulant
  • Soda Ash for pH adjustment
  • Polymer as Flocculant
  • Clarification with mono-media roughing media
  • Filtration through dual media filter
Treated Water: Turbidity < 0.3 NTU, Color < 5 TCU
