Assembly Manager

Description

AWC Process Solutions is a distributor, integrator, and OEM of various types of industrial equipment, including valves, pumps, and MCCs & VFDs, among others, servicing municipal and industrial industries. AWC specializes in providing specialized industrial packaged solutions. We offer clients advanced in-house engineering & design with 3D modeling, piloting, fabrication and machining, in-house control panel shop, and a full range of field services, allowing us to provide turn-key solutions.

We are seeking qualified people to fill roles in our Mechanical Packaged Systems group. We have positions suitable for certified tradespeople, as well as those without certification but with a strong mechanical aptitude. The successful candidates will have a deep level of technical experience in mechanical assembly work and hands-on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate employee activities to achieve plant goals while maximizing production
  • Supervise employees – train, write and administer reviews, disciplinary, set goals, track progress of the department, and update records
  • Assist the Production Manager in assessing cycle time and works with Sales to provide information regarding delivery dates, work order expediency and new product assembly
  • Plan and lay out assembly projects as to sequence of assembly, testing procedures, shipping dates, etc. to conform with process, prints and quality specifications
  • Install pumps, instruments, valves, meters according to Process and Instrumentation drawing and Mechanical layout drawing
  • Measure, cut, thread, glue, solder and assemble new pipe, PVC and Steel, according to drawings
  • Troubleshooting and repair of various mechanical systems
  • Obtain materials required to complete assembly work according to drawings
  • Ensure components are assembled to final products according to drawings
  • Ensure assembly work is carried out on schedule and within budget
  • Pack and crate all necessary parts and accessories for shipping while performing quality control and detailed check list
  • Work with team members on improving missed targets
  • Ensure compliance to all quality & safety related policies, procedures and system requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Oversee and ensure safety of all employees of the team

Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in mechanical assembly work
  • Prior experience in plumbing work an asset
  • Completed high school education
